| Car System I had different options in mind to bring some movement to the display, but none of them appeared to me as ideal: 1. Slot Car There is a LEGO compatible slot car system available but it requires very wide curves and the slot does not look so nice. And the cars are rather big. 2. Contruction with a chain hidden in the sidewalks I have seen that in a nice smaller MOC but the issues are reliability and the size of the transportable modules. 3. Self Built Magnetic System All my own attempts were not very successful: Not reliable, not very powerful and only suitable for very small objects. |
GoBrick Car System I found the system that is almost ideal. Its manufactured by a small company in Korea - GoBrick. There are different starter packages and one of them I did try out but I need the "turn road motor gear" set with extra strong magnets. This has, together with some extra parts, become the "foundation" of Tennyson Street and parts of Hastings Street in the MOC. To make it fit, I had to raise the level of my entire MOC built so far and change some of the modular parts size. So lots of impact and of cause but totally worth the effort when adding some historic cars, bicycles and motorbikes as well as some funny things. First video of the car system in action - YouTube |
